Summer is here and with it come hot weather and yard work. This summers big project for us is demoing a big old shelter in the back yard, and then planting new grass to make the yard bigger. My wife in all her wisdom often reminds me that I'm a lot like a child at dinner time that takes more food than they can eat. I often have multiple projects simply because I will get to a point in the project that becomes a little overwhelming or a little beond my scope of knowledge. I have also been stubborn about asking for help from others on projects in the past. These habits have lead to some pretty funny memories. Just the other day as I was balancing on a ladder about ten feet in the air my daughter Kendra asked me if I needed a reflective time out to think about what I was doing. Good call kiddo was my quick response. I have often pondered on why God chose to give me four women for life long roommates. It was a day like today that I'm shown his wisdom and with great humility that I lack in a number of areas, and my wife and these little ladies pick up a lot of slack that dad leaves behind. Family identities are grown over time. It's a marathon not a sprint.

Your ladies love you so so much. Even when your projects get in the way!
ReplyDeleteI think it must run in the family! Billy likes to make big plans for lots of projects as well - until he starts to do them and realizes that he probably bit off more then he can, or wants to, chew! haha
ReplyDeletelol funny Scott that is the true way of a worker who wants to do it all...........and yes you and Billy have been that way your whole life. Always takening on way more than you could finish and I (with my head hung low) am exactly the same way. I am always out running myself in project ideas. But age makes you slow down I PROMISE YOU the ideas will still be there but not the energy. We are all very luck to have partners that smile a lot at us..........lol
